Anyes Pourtaghi - Vancouver, Canada/??????, France
A seeker and a believer those would be the two words I'd choose to describe myself.
At this point in my life I feel ready to start to get to know me. A year and a half ago thanks to my daughter I started to blog and Far Away in the Sunshine was born. Writing and taking photographs daily enabled me to connect with a side of myself I did not really know. The Artist I discovered within is very much a work in progress and one I am passionate about. My pen, my notebook and my camera are the tools helping me along to map this incredible journey.
I grew up in a small village in the South West of France and always knew I would travel. Curious by nature I often wondered how it would be to live abroad. As luck would have it during a Summer break when I was 17 years I came to visit my aunt in Montreal and got to see Canada. During that time we all drove down to Asbury Park, NJ, and I got to see a bit of the USA. The vast immensity of the North American sky was what I truly fell in love with. I knew then I would come back. It took a bit longer than I thought but it happened.
Following this urge I had to go away I left France when I was 25 years old and first came to live in Montreal. This is where I met my husband, and together a few years after we decided to head West direction Vancouver, BC. Upon arrival I knew I had found my home. I live here surrounded by nature, with the mountains and the ocean as my very close neighbours. The sky is quite often on the grayer side of the colour spectrum, but as it happen I love rain:-)
This is where we currently live together with our two children.
I am learning the art of photography and the art of writing but most of all I am learning how to open my heart to the simple beauty of everyday life. Listening to voices I had muted so many years ago and letting them guide me.
I am very excited to be part of the collaborative team of Vision and Verb. Being one of the very first blog I started reading makes it the more sweeter.
